The Dean is the principal academic leader and administrative head of a specific Faculty (e.g., Faculty of Management, Science, or Arts). As per statutory mandates, the University seeks a person possessing the highest level of competence, integrity, morals, and institutional commitment. The Dean acts as the critical bridge between Departmental Heads and the University’s central administration, ensuring that the Faculty’s academic roadmap aligns with global standards and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive academic leadership across curriculum, faculty, and research
Faculty Development
Foster a culture of high-impact research and supervise the recruitment and promotion processes within the constituent departments.
Strategic Leadership
Develop a Faculty-level Institutional Development Plan (IDP) to enhance research output and student outcomes.
Financial Oversight
Manage the Faculty’s budget and resources, ensuring the successful mobilization of research grants and consultancy projects.
Curriculum Innovation
Oversee the modernization of syllabi, ensuring multidisciplinary approaches and the integration of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
Student Excellence
Maintain a student-centric environment, ensuring academic discipline and the timely redressal of student grievances.
Eligibility & Experience
Academic Rank
Must hold the rank of Professor in a department within the concerned Faculty.
Academic Standing
A Ph.D. degree from a recognized University/Institution with a superlative academic record. (mandatory/near mandatory)
Experience
A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in postgraduate teaching or research.
Leadership Proof
Must provide documented evidence of having demonstrated academic leadership, typically including a prior term as a Head of Department (HoD) or Director of a University Centre.
