The Professor of Practice is an eminent professional invited to bring real-world expertise into the classroom. The objective is to enhance the quality of higher education by integrating professional practice with academic theory, fostering industry-academia collaboration, and mentoring students in vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development
Actively participate in designing and developing industry-relevant courses and curricula.
Instructional Delivery
Deliver lectures, introduce new specialized courses, and focus on experiential learning.
Mentorship
Guide students in innovation, entrepreneurship projects, and provide career mentorship.
Institutional Service
Participate in student assessments, examinations, and institutional seminars/training programs.
Joint Research
Collaborate with regular faculty members on joint research projects, workshops, and consultancy services.
Eligibility & Experience
Professional Eminence
Individuals must have proven expertise in their specific profession (e.g., Engineering, Science, Technology, Media, Entrepreneurship, Legal Profession, or Public Administration).
Experience (The 15-Year Rule)
A minimum of 15 years of service or experience, preferably at a senior level, in the relevant professional field.
Academic Exemption
A formal academic qualification (like a Ph.D.) is not mandatory if the candidate possesses exemplary professional practice in lieu.
Publication Exemption
Candidates are exempted from the standard requirement of research publications and other academic eligibility criteria.
Exclusion Clause
This position is not open to those currently or previously in the teaching profession (serving or retired).
